Good Copywriting for Emails

Most of the time when we send ordinary emails to friends or even messages to corporate clients, we don’t really pay attention to the presentation, language and structure of the emails, do we? It seems alright if emails are directed to just friends, but certainly not if they are meant for corporate clients. These messages require attention as they can be the source of future revenue or they can lead to corporate damage.

Emails involves the usage of words, and its the words used that will have effect upon the result of the customers’ views. The effect can be either positive or negative. If it’s positive, words sell well. If it’s negative, they damage well too. In effect, words have the power to affect customers and control can only be exerted by the writer of the email. Emails have to be written with specially crafted words and not just ordinarily.

Good copywriting for emails require special attention in certain ways.

In any message writing, it is important to avoid repetitions. In many email observations, it is found that many of these emails show same thoughts repeated throughout the length of the salescopy. It is sad but it’s true. Why so extremely lengthy a salescopy when it could have been one in simple and clear format of reasonable length. The message in the email should come straight to the point, emphasizing the main reason(s) why the customer should buy from you. Being imperative is the point that the salescopy has to be attention-grabbing as read from the whole length of content in it. Still it must be void of redundancies, statements that tell the same thing repeatedly.

In email marketing, be personal in email writing. A personalized voice is essential to maintain contact with the customer. Customers feel they have someone listening to them at the other end. It’s the only way to keep the conversation going on. They will definitely read on because their attention is being captured by the personalized way of writing in the email. Slowly but steadily continue to construct the salescopy by showing them the main features and benefits and the advantages of buying from you. Simultaneously let them know the unique value proposition for your product or service, as you are talking with them in your emails. It is personalization in action.

Good email writing entails some creativity from the writer. It can be monotonous if emails that we receive daily appear lengthy and well written but without some form of liveliness. Certainly the fastest way out of this boredom is deleting them. It would be beneficial if the emails are written in a conversational language and style. There is more engagement with the customer in this way. Customers can feel the personal touch and nearness of the writer.

In good copywriting for emails, no effort is to be spared for using punctuation. This is normally effective in bringing customers to absorb what have been detailed out in the emails. Punctuation allows words in the emails to sink into the minds of customers. It encourages them to think and rethink as the words sink in.

The most important factor to be taken in consideration as far as good coywriting for emails is concerned, it is the emotion for the product or service to be sold. Emotion must be integral to the success of the sale. Selling some product or service without emotion shown is as good as knowing there will be no sale at all. In writing the email, there must be emotion in the choice of words to sell the product or service. Put simply, love what’s put on sale. Show the deep emotion that’s involved with it. Show the passion too.

Email writing should not be taken lightly. A good piece of email that sells well has to be given some time in careful thoughts and planning. Therefore, good copywriting for emails has to be learned, and it can only be so.

Tips for great emails

Email marketing requires good emails to produce the desired results of high traffic and massive income. In order to achieve best results from emails, marketers must understand and know the language, the intrinsics, and the techniques of writing and presenting great emails.

There are many ways of writing emails. I am sure we have observed many emails being written using sloppy techniques that won’t be of much help. Emails that drag on in a rather pushy style are not uncommon. It is sad but it’s a fact that these emails do surface every now and then in our mailboxes. If only emails are written with care and great thoughts put in finding the best possible style, structure and presentation, there will not be high chances of their immediate deletion from the mailboxes.

To write and present great emails, here are the tips that can be used to achieve these results:

(1) Get to know your customer well - The very first condition that determines your direction in your business is the decision on your target audience. What is the target audience that you are interested in, and be specific about it. This is of paramount importance simply because your emails will have to be tailored to the specific target audience. It would be ineffective if you want to market thick winter clothings to consumers living in the tropics. This is an integral component of any marketing strategy be it online or offline. We have to arrow with precision the specific target market, and this can be accomplished by constructing an in-house email list that is highly targeted. Through this list, our emails can be personalized. To increase the overall value of your customer base, you can delve further into each audience segment and reach each of them with personalized messages written in their own language to be in sync with their thoughts and emotions. They will know that you listen and care about them.

(2) Get to understand your customers’ buying patterns - It is always good to know and understand the consumption behavior of your customers. The buying patterns and preferences of your customers will show you what kinds of products or services they like and how often they require these products or services. You will get to understand why they buy from you and not others and vice versa. If you delve deeper into such data, you will be able to appreciate what problems that your product or service has done for them. This is essentially the advantage point for your unique selling proposition. The data on the consumption behavior of your customers will enable you to write your sales copy effective. Your sales copy should turn out a killer by then.

(3) Write an attention-grabbing title - This is the first line that visitors read. It is very important that you have grabbed their attention within five to ten seconds when they read your subject line. What you put in your subject line must be interesting, catchy and captivating to make them want to find out more. It contributes to writing great emails. Otherwise, they would just regard it as another spam message worthy of deletion. If there is a promise stated clearly in the subject line, it is only right that you fulfill that promise to gain the trust of your prospects or customers. This is clear enough that once there is a breach of trust, it would take a mountainous effort to bring them back.

(4) Be warm and embracing - Personalize your messages. Use a very friendly tone. Talk directly to your customers using “You”. It is part of psychological and emotional therapy. Customers will get to feel you have both listening and caring attributes. They will love to share their problems or needs with you and hope to get your solutions. For example, “Are you facing low traffic to your website and poor returns from your internet marketing business?”. Another important revelation is that people like to feel important. So addressing them in the second person will strike a chord in making them know they are important. Customers are the King!

(5) Be convincing in your buying reasons - Another tip for writing great emails and to make closures is stating your reason why the customer must buy from you. In your emails, you can actually furnish customers with the necessary facts and figures about your product or service. Show them your credibility and the goodness of your product or service. You can link them to your landing page that will describe more of your product or service. In your emails, it is always good to highlight the main features and benefits that they should seriously consider.

(6) Make a persuasive Call to Action - This is the finale for writing your email. A call to action has to be persuasive and yields powerful impact upon the customer. It cannot afford to be weak and lame. Customers already understand the reasons for them to buy from you, and you have to make them take action immediately. They should not be allowed to re-think over their decision to buy from you. You can provide a link that they can click on without much hassle, and goes straight to your website. Give your customers strong incentives such as offers, discounts, and freebies. Inform them that such incentives are limited and for the time being only. Let them know as well that prices will go up after today so that they will take action immediately.

Emails will deliver results if written well. They form the spine of email marketing. If email marketing is to be successful, emails must be great. The tips given will be your guide to some great emails.

Tips for Viral Email Marketing

Viral marketing activates when it goes transmitting your messages via word-of-mouth in an uncontrollable manner from one person to another. It brings positive effects rather than negative. It’s contagious in a way but is always beneficial to any online business. This is especially so when the transmitted message comes from a trusted friend.

There is no such thing as planned viral marketing. Viral marketing just happens to activate accidentally and result in explosive transmission. This may be caused by a great piece of information in your email or perhaps by some hilarious joke in your message that is so interesting and amusing to the reader. When we relate emails and viral marketing together, we have to be aware of the fact that the email may actually be the cause of the viral marketing reaction. With this reaction, other kinds of viral movements may be triggered off. In other words, it is similar to a domino effect. Typically, the end result is always the desired outcome.

Viral marketing campaigns have always incorporated emails as its primary feature. This is attributed to the fact that emails are the fastest and most inexpensive of all marketing media. We can create splendid buzz with help from emails. We are able to generate more interest when our emails are noticed by web surfers, marketers and non-marketers alike.

What are the ways that we can execute viral email marketing effectively and bring in massive income? Here are the tips which should contribute to its success:

(1) Write clear and simple messages - This is basic rationale. With a message that is deep and complex in its structure and meaning, it is very likely that the relative campaign is not going to succeed. Visitors may have to think hard about the meaning of those complex sentences before thinking of buying. The decision to buy will be stifled and delayed from taking place in a short time. It is only good that the email message should be short, simple and distinctly clear. Only then will there be a better chance of good returns and higher viral conversion rates.

(2) Increase creativity - There can be so many topics to write about for your emails. The best ones will be those that are creative and have funny videos, cute pictures, stimulating pieces of news etc to stimulate and captivate the visitor’s attention. After emails are sent out, we should engage in requesting the recipients to join us in sharing the buzz creation. A good example would be requesting them to post their viral messages onto their pages on either MySpace or FaceBook. They can also post badges onto their blogs.

(3) Implement a monitoring system for the results - Every campaign must be monitored for its performance. Compare whatever results attained for the campaign with those of the original goals. From the metrics, we should be able to ascertain what offers are bringing in good returns. We will also be able to make relevant changes to boost our blogs, forums, video sources etc in order to reverse the bad results.

(4) Offers must have a maximum ceiling - No offers can be stated without any cap whatsoever. It is senseless to offer ten dollars discount for every ten people recommended. This may cause privacy issues that may affect the marketer’s reputation. If such an offer really gets emailed, consequences would be drastic. We can only imagine the message will be sent like a spam, possibly overloading servers. Therefore, the best solution would be a tangible value-added offer, by which viral email marketing works effectively.

(5) Welcome referrals - Referrals who come to you from your subscribers are like additional gems to your goldmine. They must be warmly welcomed. An opt-in checkbox to receive future mails can be constructed specifically for them. To produce better results, it is recommended that the subject lines in referral emails be warmly personalized to show that it originates from a good friend, for instance, ” Christopher Jones thought you will have a great liking for the sofa on sale at 20percent discount at Great Sofa.com”. A warm welcome to a referral is undoubtedly an incentive for successful viral email marketing.

(6) Ensure no message overload - It is obvious that sometimes we may have sent too many emails at any given time. The only course of action to take is to ensure there will be no message overload, especially when we ourselves are heavily burdened with replying emails. We must not only monitor what are the results attained so far for the campaign, but also the open and click-through rates, as these will show us how many actual responses we have actually received. This will reflect the recent pattern and level of engagement in emails.

For viral email marketing to be successful, it is significant that the primary objective of the campaign be clearly defined, the results well measured, and a good proactive contingency plan be instituted at the outset of the campaign. That said, by using the aforesaid tips for viral email marketing, chances for attaining success for your online business using viral email marketing strategy will be raised considerably.

Email Marketing Success

Email marketing is one of the main marketing medium for online marketers. With the huge impact that email marketing has made on web marketing, there is no reason to turn away from this potential money-making avenue. Still we have to understand and know how and when to use email, as well as when not to use it. This is crucial as it decides whether we’ll make or break this money-making machine.

Just being as web surfers, we send out emails to our friends and companies most of the time. We will also check our mailboxes everyday for incoming emails. Email is seen here as an effective way by which you can maintain your relationship with people you know. From the marketer’s point of view, email is a fantastic opportunity to establish good relationships with prospects and existing customers. As marketers, we can build this important relationship with customers by engaging in constant conversations. It is only during such conversations that we will be able to know and understand what are their buying patterns and preferences. We will be able to assess what is known in marketing language as “consumer behavior”. With such data accumulated on hand, we can do a little more research and fine-tune our product or service and customer service, in order to achieve email marketing success.

Using email, we are able to inform customers and prospects about our new and latest products or services and all the offers, bonuses, freebies and discounts that we will be offering. What better way to make this announcement other than via email that is, as you know, cheap and fast. With the help of technological innovation, you can place your offers, bonuses, freebies and discounts in your email message and link them to your salespage where they will be able to read more. An important point to note is that your message has to be compelling, providing a valid reason and strong motivation for the prospect to click on the link.

Where speed is concerned, we know that there is no other medium that is able to make transmissions any faster than email. Email is via electronic technology and this is another reason why online marketers revel in this innovation. It works speedily, and is easily the best communication medium for the purpose of providing and maintaining customer relationships. Complaints can be easily tracked and resolved almost instantly when incoming mails are checked regularly. Special requests from customers or prospects can also be easily acceded to by a simple click. Additional information about the product or service can also be relayed instantly via email. These efforts can be best rewarded only through email marketing.

We may think that the interest of the prospect may not be constant sometimes in any circumstance. Email dispels this perception. Email is one place where the marketer can sustain the interest of the prospect effectively. Placing the offer link in various places of the email message works wonders. This is tantamount to restating your offers to capture and remind the prospect of your offers. Simply, the reason is because we know that people read emails very quickly without digesting them! They scroll the messages without really paying attention to your words. So locating the offer link at multiple places often helps in this respect.

Email marketing helps online marketers in many ways. For any marketing campaign to succeed, it is imperative to have follow-up done regularly. We know that email is relatively inexpensive. All types of customers are important to marketers. Mailings received earlier must be followed up diligently. Surely no marketer would want to lose any of these customers who are precious to the bottom line. With the inexpensiveness of email, it makes sense to do follow-up diligently. Corporate marketers will endorse the fact that the email is really an effective tool to boost attendance for conferences. Of course, we do not forget that via email, people are always able to do last-minute registrations for any event without any fuss.

Email marketing will help online marketers to increase sales orders, retain customers , and importantly, to build much better relationships with customers. It is the only marketing medium that is not only fast and effective, but also cheap and inexpensive. Online marketers will be able to bathe in email marketing success.

Success in Blogging through relationships

We all know that blogging is basically founded upon the relationship between the blogger and readers. A voice is required in blogging. The blogger speaks and the reader listens. A kind of relationship is formed at that instant. Whether that relationship will materialize or not cannot be confirmed though at that very point in time. It’s even more difficult to predict if it will bring any success in blogging for the blogger.

Talking about a relationship, let’s be honest about it - every blogger loves to blog and it’s always because of this factor that to establish this relationship with other bloggers , we can safely confirm that this is the key reason and is an important strategy for success in blogging.

When we get to know other bloggers during blogging time, we’ll be able to get feedback through comments. They will be glad to provide us with their honest and unbiased thoughts about our presentation, content or even the blog as a whole. From such feedback which will always be ever so readily provided, we will be able to fine-tune the design of the blog or put in more effort to post more fresh content. The blogger must be willing to share views or ask questions if unsure about blog matters. Other bloggers are always ready to give a helping hand; they will have no problem helping out with the problem blog.

We should be aware that not all bloggers are well-known personalities who are publicly recognizable. Of course, there is also no need to be alarmed, simply because individual bloggers do possess some extent of influence. Through building the relationships with these bloggers, we will be able to enhance our positive experiences, and they too will be more than willing to offer us help using the influence that they have. We know that a friend in need is a friend indeed; most bloggers fall into this category.

Building the relationships with other bloggers is always progressive. It comes naturally and over some period of time. It doesn’t not follow any standard pattern or single process.

I’m sure we know that the blog is really a good opening to knowing someone who reads it, that is, your blog. The reader will be able to know a little more about you through the feed. From your blog, it is always possible to form an opinion about you, the blogger. The reader will be able to think about the passions that you have, or even your personality traits.

Comments left by the reader on your blog will always influence you to read them. This is because you will surely be able to recognize the name of the reader who leaves the comment on your blog. There is this opportunity for a relationship to start between you and the reader.

One point worth mentioning and admiring is this - the blog builds mutual respect between blogger and reader. We must know that links actually are a measure of respect. This stems from the fact that the reader has been actively reading your blog and not just about an isolated item. That said, the more links the better.

The relationships can be brought up another level. With the benefit of links, it is time to further strengthen the relationship through email. We know that bloggers love links, but they also love to email. From the comments that are posted, it is good to continue to make progess in the relationship building by extending the conversation from the comments.

From blogging, it is fairly noticeable that bloggers really love to talk and contribute in blog conversations with other bloggers sharing same interests. With advanced technology, it is the right time to bring the relationship another level higher by engaging in conversation over the phone , or even Skype, a new real-time talk technology.

It is best if bloggers can meet up personally. This will consolidate the relationship that they are trying to build. The time spent face-to-face can be about any topic, not necessarily to be about blogging. In fact, this is the golden opportunity to cement the relationship between two bloggers who are trying to find value.

If we seriously want success in blogging, we have no choice but to build a real and caring relationship with the blogger on the other side. It’s still the human touch that is important.
