Online marketing is no different from off-line marketing. You will need to test and measure your marketing results.  To be able to perform testing and marketing effectively, you have got to learn the skills required.

Look out for unique visitors who have come to your website . This can be extracted from the referring IP which is a short term for internet protocol address.  This tool helps you to measure your marketing results by clearly revealing to you the degree of popularity of your website through the total number of unique visits.

(3) The total number of visitors

You can monitor what is the actual number of visitors who came to your website by making use of statistical programs that are readily available for this task. The tracking can be done on weekly, monthly or quarterly basis as you deem fit.

(4) The actual rate of visits

This tool helps you to determine the effectiveness of your traffic strategies.  The campaigns that you have activated should be producing results according to plan.  Therefore, the visitor rate plays an important role in helping you to put up frequent tracking, and to gather vital information to make new marketing strategies or to revamp current ones.

(5) The actual click through rate

The click through rate must be determined and ever-ready for you to conduct a thorough assessment of your web page, in terms of especially its persuasiveness. If your web page is extremely convincing, it will be able to persuade visitors to buy from you. Your conversions will then increase easily especially when applied with split-testing strategy.

(6) Make full use of opt-in rate

If you have an opt-in box to collect names and email addresses of potential subscribers,  you will be able to determine to what extent is the interest that visitors have in your marketing campaign. You will also be able to find out how responsive visitors are to your current campaign. This tool helps you to measure your marketing results by monitoring how best you can get people to be involved in your new product launches.

(7) Apply the conversion rate

This conversion rate variable is extremely important and useful. It helps you to monitor your conversions by revealing actual sales, that is, potential subscribers who have become actual buyers after subscribing through your opt-in box. The conversion rate in effect helps you to take a closer look at your ability to effectively convince and persuade subscribers to buy. If the conversion rate is low, it is time to take remedial action.

In conclusion, your online business requires great attention in terms of its marketing results. It is only justified that you apply effective tools to measure these results and provide appropriate remedial solutions quickly. Marketing results are just too important to be ignored.
